Theresia McCearney & Richard Gordon

Theresia was born in Provence, France, from a Scottish father and a French mother both Phd Historians. Nurtured by tales of centuries past and dual cultures she naturally set path for an exciting journey in Animation. After Fine Arts and Arts History studies in Paris and Angoulemes (at the former Comic Strips and Picture National Centre) she completed a Bachelor of Arts specialised in Animation at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Arts in Dundee. Her practice and love of draughtsmanship paid off as they were essential to succeed as an animator on hand drawn features such as Sylvain Chomet’s ‘The Illusionist’ and Cartoon Saloon’s ‘Song of the Sea’ (both Oscar contenders).

Passionate about everything Animation related and refusing to be confined in a specific role, Theresia uses her skills and versatility to step up to any requirements of the production pipeline: from pre-production, encompassing character design, visual dev, layout and backgrounds to rigging, hand drawn/ 2D puppet animation techniques and motion graphics for Live Action and post-production. Her credits span movie features and Tv series for the BBC, Disney Junior, Cartoon Saloon, among others.

Now a happy member of the Jam Media family (art lead), she is currently working on BBC live action TV series Nova Jones: crafting motion graphics for the in-universe mediascape…

This said, she’s already preparing to jump into her next mission: hand drawn layout and background art for a 2D TV series.
